As acting Commodore of Fleetwood MY&PBC it is my great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you to the MYA Marblehead & 10r National Championship Regatta.
With one week to go before the regatta commences we have 52 Marbleheads & 19 10r’s entered, from 27 clubs in 7 countries.
We are also pleased to say that we have 9 of the top 10 from last years Marblehead world Championship, and 6 from the top 10 from the 10r World Championship. I’m sure that you will agree that this makes for a great event.
The Fleetwood clubhouse has a limited amount of boat storage available on a “first come” basis and there are workshop facilities including pillar drill, bench grinder, vice, soldering iron & assorted hand tools.
There are various 13amp mains sockets available around the clubhouse for charging. After registration/check measurement NO BOATS or equipment in the club room PLEASE, to leave this room clear for competitors eating and socialising.
Whilst on the subject of socialising and eating, there is a mistake on the NOR which states that there will be food on Friday & Saturday nights after racing. This is a mistake, there will be one party night on Sat when food will be provided for everyone, in the form of a Lancashire “Fish & Chips Supper” but as usual please bring your drinks. Before the supper there will be team racing with boats provided, and after supper there will be the Fleetwood Quiz!!!
So, wherever you’re travelling from be it Australia, Europe, or the mid Atlantic, please have a safe journey and we look forward to welcoming you all from 2pm on Thurs 6th July.
