Thursday 26th April
A good turnout of 10 skippers enjoyed B Rig conditions in what was a favourable Westerly wind, enabling us to set a trying rectangular course of 2 laps in the main, with a couple of single laps thrown in to get us to 8 races, before darkness fell.
It was a good chance for those entering the TT to get some practice in, and all looks good for John Plant who was in great form, taking the night’s honours with 7 firsts out of the 8. Uncle Derek could only take part in 1 race and duly won that. For the rest of us the Benson brothers sailed consistently taking second and third spots respectively, Chris`s night was marred by some unknown electrical problem. It got quite chilly late on, and Harry retired into the warmth of the clubhouse near the end, complaining of frostbite.
