Thursday 7th June
Well a good turnout of eleven skippers endured the evening’s calm conditions, and we made the best of what there was.
A simple course was set, and it was the usual contenders who coped best, with John taking five bullets in the evening coming top, and Chris second.
By the time we got to our last race, there was barely a breath, so a reduced course was set to get our eight races in. It was fascinating to watch, as there must have been about seven boats side by side on the run in, or rather drift in, going for the finish line, some getting a small lift and others not, then it would alternate, a real lottery.
One good thing to report for the night, there were no mechanical failures this week.
Well let’s hope for better conditions next time out, and we can have some proper exciting racing.
