The weather forecast gave strong wind and rain, but on arriving at the lake competitors found the wind was fairly light and there was no rain. Six yachts entered. Unfortunately the wind was from the South East, giving difficult sailing conditions. Most yachts were in top suits of sails.
As the forecast also mentioned that wind strength and rain would increase during the afternoon, it was decided to complete the full round of the schedule and not have lunch until racing was completed. Towards the end of racing the wind strength began to increase and there was a little light rain. Some skippers decided to reduced sail. Racing was completed by 3-00 pm.
Thanks are due to Bob and Harry for looking after the mates’ bank.
