Saturday 21st June Jack Roberts Trophy

The wind was very light and blowing initially from the SE, then changing to the SW. Due to the low level of water and the presence of weed in the lake, some of our visitors decided not to attend. Two rounds were planned, but after 4 heats the lake was flat calm, so it was decided to finish sailing.

Sunday 22nd June Northern District Championship

There was little weed to be seen on the lake, but the wind was strong from the West. Due to the low water level it was decided to sail beats only, as catching the yachts at the end of the run would have been very difficult.

Two rounds were sailed.

Bradford Cup Classic & Vintage Vane M Club Event 8th June 2025

Four skippers  entered the event, a little less than the norm due to others sailing at various away R/C fixtures. The wind was strong westerly so 2nd suit sails were used by all. Unfortunately there were no mates present to man the opposite bank to the skippers, so racing pairs were sailed one at a time with skippers of the other pair acting as mates.

Beats and runs were sailed in heat 1, then for the safety of boats and skippers, it was agreed to sail beats only, as yachts were coming downwind very fast for the capabilities of the competitors present. Two rounds were sailed.
